FAQ – The Little Wine Museum
What is Le Petit Musée du Vin in Lyon?

Le Petit Musée du Vin is a cultural and sensory venue located in Lyon’s 7th district. More than just a tasting room, it is a permanent immersive exhibition dedicated to wine history, terroir, and winemaking secrets. The experience concludes with an educational wine tasting included in the tour.

What does the €25 ticket include?

The €25 entrance fee grants full access to our 4 scenographic areas (History, Vineyards, Winemaking, Careers) and includes a guided tasting of 6 to 8 wines at the end of the visit to put your new knowledge into practice.

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking is highly recommended, especially on weekends. To ensure a high-quality, intimate experience, we limit groups to 6 people per slot. You can book your visit directly on our website.

How long does the visit last?

The museum tour slot is scheduled for exactly 1 hour. For safety reasons and visitor comfort (limited capacity in the cellars), time slots are fixed. Please note: late arrivals cannot be compensated and will shorten your visit time accordingly. The final wine tasting takes place afterwards at your own pace in the boutique area.

Are the tours guided?

No, the museum is designed as a self-guided tour. The layout is intuitive and easy to follow for everyone, from beginners to experts. However, our passionate staff is always on hand to answer your questions about history or winemaking, and to guide you through the final tasting session.

Can I buy wine without taking the tour?

Yes. Our Boutique and Bookstore area is open to the public without an entry fee. You can purchase a curated selection of wines (including our own Bugnazet label), wine accessories, and books.

Is the visit suitable for beginners or non-drinkers?

Yes. The tour is designed to be fun and educational, perfect for anyone wanting to understand wine without complex jargon. Non-drinkers and minors are welcome; we provide high-quality grape juice as an alternative during the tasting session.

Is the museum wheelchair accessible?

No, unfortunately. The museum is located in historic vaulted cellars accessible only via a spiral staircase. Due to this architectural layout, the site is not wheelchair accessible, and caution is advised for elderly visitors or those with limited mobility.

Do you offer private events or team building?

Yes. Le Petit Musée du Vin offers private booking options for companies (team building, corporate evenings) and private tasting workshops. Contact us for a tailored quote.
