Understanding and communicating
Like many French people, I have always been drawn to the world of wine.
I drink a bottle every two weeks, I knew a few appellations and grape varieties… but not much else.
When I decided to invest in a vineyard, out of passion and a desire to create something tangible, I embarked on a crash course. And there, I discovered an unexpected world.
I was struck by how little we know about wine, despite its importance in our culture. So many preconceptions, so many fascinating stories!
After a trip to Champagne, the idea for the Petit Musée du Vin was born: an educational and entertaining place, with tastings, where visitors can learn without jargon, understand what makes a good wine, and marvel at the work involved in vineyard cultivation.
I had found the ideal location: vaulted cellars 500 metres from Bellecour.
And as the space is small, I used my experience in digital technology to ‘push the walls’ thanks to digital technology and interactivity.
That is how the Little Wine Museum came into being.
I hope it will convey the same enthusiasm that I had in designing it, together with my partners and collaborators.
